Automatic Tsunami Hazard Assessment System: “Tsunami Observer”

چکیده
The current prototype of a fully automatic earthquake tsunami hazard assessment system, “Tsunami Observer”, is described. transition the system to active phase operation occurs when information about strong (Mw ≥ 6.0) received. In first stage, vector field coseismic displacements Earth’s crust calculated by using Okada formulas. calculations, use made data on coordinates, seismic moment, focal mechanism, and depth earthquake, as well empirical patterns. second initial elevation water surface at tsunami’s focus determined with bottom distribution ocean depths, earthquake’s potential energy calculated. third intensity estimated Soloviev–Imamura scale in accordance magnitude relationship that obtained result statistical analysis historical events. final if exceeds critical value 109 J, numerical simulation performed, which allows determination predominant directions wave propagation estimation runup height nearest coast. this work, over last 3 years are presented.

Asteroid Impact Tsunami: A Probabilistic Hazard Assessment
We investigate the generation, propagation, and probabilistic hazard of tsunami spawned by oceanic asteroid impacts. The process first links the depth and diameter of parabolic impact cavities to asteroid density, radius, and impact velocity by means of elementary energy arguments and crater scaling rules. Then, linear tsunami theory illustrates how these transient cavities evolve into vertical...
متن کاملTsunami warning system using of IoT
Abstract Today, the world has reached a new nature with advances in science. The Internet of Things is a technology that can connect all objects in different fields through the Internet. Any unforeseen event that destroys economic, social and physical capabilities and inflicts human and financial losses is known as a natural disaster, such as a tsunami. IoT-based tsunami forecasting system ...
متن کاملMass transport events and their tsunami hazard
Mass transport events, such as those from submarine landslides, volcanic flank collapse at convergent margins and on oceanic islands, and subaerial failure are reviewed and found to be all potential tsunami sources. The intensity and frequency of the tsunamis resulting is dependent upon the source. Most historical records are of devastating tsunamis from volcanic collapse at convergent margins....

متن کاملStatistical Analysis of Earthquakes and Tsunami of Makran Subduction Zone (MSZ), and Tsunami Hazard Assessment of Gwadar Coast
Tsunami waves are the most underrated hazard affecting the life near coastal belts. With socio-economic developments in coastal region results in more hazardous from tsunami. The hazard assessment of tsunami is highly vital. The Makran region is exceptional in closure zone of Tethys; it is only segment east of the Mediterranean and west of Andaman arc in which subduction of oceanic lithosphere ...
